At the end of each year, it is common to reflect on what we have achieved and what remains to be done. At Byld, this reflection has a special meaning, as we have spent more than 8 years creating companies from scratch, innovating with large corporations, and developing new business models.

As we close out 2025, we take a moment to look back at the foundations of who we are and what we do. In a recent interview with Evan Palmejar, a student at the Estonian Academy of Arts, we shared our experiences and challenges as venture builders. Through this conversation, we want to delve into what motivates us, how we have evolved, and what continues to drive us to innovate.

"What Do We Do? Creating New Companies that Transform Markets"

In the interview, Evan began by asking Manuel how he would describe a typical day for a venture builder. Manuel's response helps us understand what we really do at Byld:

Manuel García-Lechuz: “A day in the life of a venture builder can be as diverse as the projects we manage. Sometimes I focus on creating a business concept, other times on validating it with users, and other times on helping a startup take its first steps.”

This dynamic approach is key for Byld. We do not limit ourselves to launching startups. We are dedicated to creating companies that solve real problems and generate tangible value. Over the years, we have worked on projects like Water Twins, Compliment, and Sprout, among others, always with the same goal: to create scalable, sustainable, and truly impactful companies in the market.

"How Do We Do It? With a Structured and Flexible Innovation Process"

The methodology of Byld is defined in three key phases: Insights, Labs, and Ventures. This process is not only based on creating new ideas but also on validating and launching them effectively.

Manuel García-Lechuz: “In the Insights phase, we start with thorough research. We ask ourselves: Where can we innovate? What problems are not being solved? This is the first step that leads us to discover opportunities.”

Evan replied: “I see that it's not a rigid process, but a very dynamic one, always looking for ways to improve.”

Indeed, Byld applies a flexible methodology, constantly adapting to each project and context. From the initial research in Insights, we move to the Labs phase, where we prototype solutions and validate ideas in the real market. Finally, in the Ventures phase, we launch the companies, giving them structure and ensuring their sustainability.

"Why Do We Do It? The Reason That Drives Us to Keep Creating"

What truly drives us is transformation. At Byld, we do not just work to create profitable companies, but to have a real impact on the world. As Manuel explained in his conversation with Evan:

Manuel García-Lechuz: “The reason we do this is simple: we want to generate impact. We know that every venture we create has the potential to change people's lives and offer solutions that address real problems.”

Evan: “It seems that, beyond profitability, there is a very clear focus on the social impact that these companies can generate.”

That is precisely what Byld seeks. Through sustainable innovation and the creation of scalable solutions, we work on businesses that can improve key sectors such as health, technology, and sustainability.

"Looking Back and Forward: Lessons Learned and Upcoming Challenges"

As we look back over these more than 8 years of venture building, we have learned many key lessons. As Manuel mentions in the interview:

Manuel García-Lechuz: “The most important thing is to always have an open mindset and be willing to take risks. Venture building isn't easy, but it is extremely rewarding when you see how an idea becomes a real business.”

At Byld, we do not measure our success solely by the number of startups launched, but by the impact we have managed to generate and the strong relationships we have built with our strategic partners. Looking to the future, 2026 will bring new challenges, but also new opportunities to continue transforming industries and creating high-impact companies.

"Co-Creation and Communication: The Keys to Building Trust and Success with Corporations"

An essential part of the venture building work at Byld is managing relationships with corporations. As Manuel tells us:

Manuel García-Lechuz: “The key is to show them that we are the right partners to help them innovate, but also for them to understand that the process requires agility. Sometimes, corporations have to let go of some control to allow the business to grow autonomously.”

We work hand in hand with these corporations, ensuring that they trust our process. Co-creation and constant communication are essential to ensure that the relationship is based on mutual trust and a shared vision.

"Starting in Venture Building: There’s No Time to Lose"

If there is something that Manuel highlights in the conversation with Evan, it is the importance of having an open mindset and being willing to take risks.

Manuel García-Lechuz: “The most important thing is to have an open mindset and be willing to take risks. Venture building is not an easy path, but it is very rewarding when you see how an idea becomes a real business.”

This advice is not only relevant for those just starting in venture building, but for all of us as we close out this year. Byld remains committed to creating innovative, scalable, and impactful companies.

Conclusion: A New Year, A Future to Build

As we finish up this 2025, we reflect on what we have achieved and what is to come. At Byld, we remain committed to innovation and the creation of new companies that solve real problems and transform markets. As we prepare for 2026, we know that the challenges will continue to be great, but so will be the impact we will generate.
