We live in an unpredictable, dynamic, and constantly changing world. Technology is evolving faster than ever, and we face discoveries that transform our reality daily. In this context, where artificial intelligence, virtual reality, big data, and blockchain dominate the conversations about innovation, the role of people becomes more relevant and unique than ever.
We firmly believe that the human factor remains decisive in the future of organizations, and that is why we place people at the center of what we do: corporate venture building.
Our journey begins by finding the why of things. During the insights phase, we seek to understand the industry or territory where we wish to innovate, and thus have a clear purpose. This purpose must be deeply rooted in the problem that the venture seeks to solve. In addition to providing strategic direction, it acts as a magnet to attract talent aligned with this vision of success. Sharing a common purpose activates the intrinsic motivation of people, helping us to create a team motivated mainly by the purpose and not by external factors.
On the other hand, we know that having a team motivated by purpose is a necessary condition, but not sufficient to ensure the success of a venture. We believe that organizational relationships can only thrive in the long term if built on trust and transparency within the team.
Trusting people who are 100% aligned with your purpose to carry forward a project significantly increases the chances of success.
Trust is the first step for anyone to feel safe expressing their ideas and concerns, and transparency helps keep the team informed and aligned with the goals and challenges they face. Both elements contribute to creating a positive and productive work environment, reducing long-term dependencies and encouraging the team to make decisions thinking of the venture.
The next natural step is to foster individual autonomy in work. Focusing on results with clear and well-defined standards has helped us create a culture that delivers high-quality results while prioritizing the well-being and satisfaction of the team. When the team feels free to decide how to carry out their work, they also feel more responsible and take ownership of their tasks. Achieving a balance between individual freedom and group coordination is essential, so it is crucial to establish clear goals and provide the necessary resources for the team to achieve them. Trust in the team's capabilities and effective delegation are key in this aspect.
Betting on personal development and inclusion is the last key to our strategy for creating successful ventures. An inclusive culture not only respects and values diversity but also, through transparency, requires equity and develops a sense of belonging.
A team facing challenges that allow them to learn and evolve is synonymous with a culture that puts people first. During our validation process in Labs, learning through practice and experimentation is fundamental. This philosophy also applies to the individual development of our team: we execute, learn, iterate, and start over to keep learning. When organizational goals are aligned as a means for personal development, people’s engagement skyrockets.
With this clear focus, at Byld we periodically generate spaces for learning and inspiration, where any team member can lead and share their knowledge with others. This is an excellent way to reflect our value of "We are Givers", where we seek to give to others without expecting anything in return, solely motivated by the desire to contribute.
In summary, putting people at the center of what we do has proven to be a powerful strategy for creating sustainable projects in the world of innovation and corporate venture building. With a clear purpose, a culture of transparency, trust, autonomy, and constant development, we manage to create an agile team, capable of adapting to the changing environment in which we live.
At Byld, we are committed to creating ventures that are not only profitable but also responsible and people-centered.
